The Space Between
The melancholy river bears us on. When the moon comes through the trailing willow boughs, I see your face, I hear your voice and the bird singing as we pass the osier bed. What are you whispering? Sorrow, sorrow. Joy, joy. Woven together like reeds in the moonlight.
— Virginia Woolf
Exploring the relationship between time, place and memory, The Space Between addresses the notion of place in past, present and future. Bringing together river beds, fantastical worlds and a river of steel to interrupt the space, the artist rebuilds her past, questions her present and acknowledges the intangibility of an ideal future.
